Sunday saw a strong performance from 'Chhaava' in theatres, while 'Mere Husband Ki Biwi' experienced a decline. The first few days of February were challenging for most films at the box office. However, Vicky Kaushal's 'Chhaava' brought some optimism with its impressive theatrical run. In contrast, Arjun Kapoor's film struggled from the start.

'Mere Husband Ki Biwi', featuring Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, and Bhumi Pednekar, hit theatres on February 21. Despite being its first weekend, the film failed to capitalise on the holiday, earning only Rs 1.11 crore on Sunday. This was a drop from Saturday's Rs 1.7 crore collection, bringing its total earnings to Rs 4.31 crore.

Box Office Performance

Released on February 14, 'Chhaava', which depicts Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's life, has been well-received since day one. Now in its second week, it continues to perform strongly at the box office. On its 10th day, Sunday, it earned Rs 40 crore despite a slight dip from Saturday's Rs 44 crore. Its total earnings have reached Rs 326.75 crore.

'Captain America: Brave New World' did not fare well with Indian audiences initially. Although critics praised it, the film didn't resonate with viewers and earned Rs 4.3 crore on its opening day. As days passed, its earnings dwindled to Rs 35 lakh by the 10th day (Sunday), accumulating a total of Rs 6.84 crore.

South Indian Cinema Impact

To rival Bollywood releases, South superstar Naga Chaitanya's 'Thandel' premiered on February 7 and outperformed some Bollywood films. Co-starring Sai Pallavi, it had an impressive start with Rs 11.5 crore on its first day. By its 17th day (Sunday), it collected Rs 1.16 crore, bringing its total earnings to Rs 63.48 crores.
