Cheekatilo Movie Review: Sobhita Dhulipala Shines in Serial Killer Thriller on Prime Video

Crime thriller Cheekatilo is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video from January 23, with Telugu, Hindi, and Tamil language options. Sobhita Dhulipala delivers a fabulous performance as a charismatic show host who takes a bold step to investigate a series of serial murders and uncover the truth. The film blends murder mysteries, media drama, and suspense into a gripping narrative.

Cheekatilo, directed by Sharan Koppisetty, features Viswadev Rachakonda, Srinivas Vadlamani, Aditi Myakal, Aamani, Chaitanya Krishna, and Eesha Chawla. The music score by Sricharan Pakala creates tension and vibes the entire story perfectly.

Sobhita Dhulipala as Sandhya Nelluri, is a news presenter who is very popular mainly because of her crime TV shows. She gets bored with the channel so she decides to create Crime podcasts, which were inspired by Aditi Myakal. Due to Bobby's demise, Sandhya being suspicious starts her investigation and finds out that there is a murderer. From her podcast, she is finding new clues, however, this leads to disagreements between the police, Rajeev and Eesha Chawla.

Cheekatilo provokes instead of a motive for the killer, it goes into the aspect of sexual harassment; as the murders are set in motion, the feeling is less like a cliche.

The narrative is slow to get started; at the beginning, the story has a series of murders and little suspense. Suspicions are raised among characters, using well-known thriller devices. The finish keeps us guessing until the final.

In Cheekatilo, technically, the work is pretty good. Koppisetty takes action from violence and includes sexual content, avoiding visuals. Pakalas music is one of the elements that help the story, which keeps the suspense going. Cinematography reflects the dark thriller's tone, producing a feeling of uncertainty.

Sobhita Dhulipala is fantastic as Sandhya with the great performance. Viswadev Rachakonda, Eesha Chawla, and Aamani perform well, and some other supporting actors and actresses are yet to be used well. Cheekatilo is a crime thriller that satisfies the audience. The investigation looks ordinary, but the very last piece of the film gives you some nice twists. Sobhita Dhulipala's presence makes it a great Telugu film for the actress. The Fans will find Cheekatilo amazing, but the audience must be prepared for a slow start.

One should watch Cheekatilo, primarily for the female narrative, the way the thriller makes it worth watching even if it doesnt fully make the genre.
