CBI Closes Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case Investigation
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday concluded its investigation into the death of renowned Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, ruling it a suicide.
The investigation, which was initially launched following Rajput's tragic demise on June 14, 2020, when he was found hanging in his Mumbai apartment, has now reached its final stages.
The findings have been presented to a special Mumbai court, tasked with determining the next steps, which could include either accepting the CBI's closure report or mandating further inquiry.

The CBI took control of the case from the Bihar Police, who had lodged a complaint of abetment to suicide. This complaint was filed in Patna by Rajput's father, K K Singh, igniting a nationwide intrigue and debate surrounding the circumstances of the actor's death.
Amidst swirling rumors and allegations, the forensic team from AIIMS provided a decisive medico-legal opinion to the CBI, refuting any claims of foul play such as "poisoning and strangling." This pivotal conclusion helped shape the direction of the CBI's investigation.
Throughout the investigation, the CBI meticulously gathered evidence, which included recording statements from those close to Rajput. Among those interviewed was Rhea Chakraborty, Rajput's rumored girlfriend, who faced scrutiny and public speculation regarding her involvement in Rajput's life and death. Despite accusations from Rajput's father alleging financial misappropriation by Chakraborty and her family, she consistently denied such claims in various media interactions.
The case has drawn significant public and media attention, partly due to the enigmatic nature of Rajput's passing and the ensuing legal drama. The actor's death not only left fans and the Bollywood industry in mourning but also sparked a broader conversation about mental health and the pressures of fame. With the CBI's report now submitted, the focus shifts to the court's decision on whether this marks the conclusion of a highly publicized chapter or the beginning of further investigative efforts.
