'Captain Miller' Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find Out From Viewers' Words

Dhanush is back with 'Captain Miller', which has hit the screens on Friday. He has teamed up with Arun Matheswaran of 'Rocky' and 'Saani Kaayidham' fame.

The movie has Kannada superstar Shivaraj Kumar in a key role with Sundeep Kishan, Aditi Balan, Priyanka Arul Mohan, Edward Sonnenblick, Nassar, Kaali Venkat, and others in the cast. The movie has GV Prakash Kumar's music, Siddhartha Nuni's cinematography and Nagooran Ramachandran's editing.

'Captain Miller' Story:

The narrative of 'Captain Miller' unfolds around a militant who, having witnessed an atrocity, engages in a battle against the British-led Indian military. Reportedly, the title is derived from the alias of Vallipuram Vasanthan, who served as the first suicide bomber for the now-defunct Tamil separatist organization, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

It's important to note that the movie is not directly related to the LTTE's first 'Black Tiger.' However, Dhanush's character undergoes a transformation into a renegade for reasons similar to Vasanthan's - the aim to protect the suffering people from the hands of the establishment. Dhanush plays Easa, a local rebel leader fighting against the colonisation of his village in this period drama.

first half - Classic filmmaking written all over! @dhanushkraja delivers a God-level performance 💥💥💥🔥, I'm already convinced that this his best work. What a deadly intro, epic intro elevation and an array of scenes that tells why D is the best in the business 🔥🔥. #ArunMatheshwaran is supremely talented, his craft is nothing less than any international classics.
@gvprakash , you beauty, what an epic score you have given for the film, when this man gets the right content, he only delivers the best ! The cinematography is bloody brilliant so is the action choreography. If the second half is as good as this we have our own modern day epic

Selvaraj S: #CaptainMiller - This Arun Matheswaran's periodical movie spoke a lot of politics that are relevant even today. Coming from a suppressed community in a Village, Dhanush aced his transitioning from Analeesan -> Miller -> Captain Miller -> Devil seamlessly. Set in a pre independence British era, the drama n actions staged are quite engaging. Powerful characters (Shivanna, Priyanka, Sandeep Kishan, Ashwin Kumar, Vinod n John kokken) are seen all over the movie and have their own weightage to the plot n screenplay. The execution & conviction towards action sequences are attained organically by the emotions in the previous scenes. Though songs were not catchy, GVP's Bgm helped action sequences to be gripping. Negatives are definitely the cinematography(Shaky) in the first half causing headache and in some places, the loudness in bgm which could have been muted to help build the tense naturally. There are many high moments that gives goosebumps. Good watch if you love action. (4/5)

Slow start followed a Ffntastic premise set towards interval block🤯💥. His arc is yet to reach the flashback but terrific till now 🌪️🌪️.
