Bombay High Court Asks Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra to Deposit ₹60 Crore Before Foreign Travel

The Bombay High Court has directed actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, to deposit ₹60 crore if they wish to travel abroad, including to Los Angeles or any other foreign destination.

The order comes in response to a petition filed by the couple seeking the quashing of a Lookout Circular (LOC) issued against them in connection with an alleged ₹60 crore fraud case.

According to the case records, the LOC was issued after an FIR was lodged accusing the couple of financial misconduct involving investment-related transactions. The couple had approached the court claiming that the LOC was unjustified and restricted their right to travel, particularly for professional commitments abroad.

The High Court, however, observed that given the magnitude of the alleged fraud and the ongoing investigation, it was necessary to impose safeguards before allowing international travel.

The matter will be heard further after the couple complies with the court's directive.
