Bigg Boss OTT Winner And Youtuber Elvish Yadav Granted Bail In Snake Venom Case

A Gurugram court granted bail to YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav on Saturday after he was arrested on March 17 in connection with a case under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. Yadav had spent six days in jail before being granted bail by the Gautam Buddha Nagar District Court on Friday. Earlier, on March 23, he was also granted bail by a Gurugram court. Yadav's lawyer, Prashant Rathi, stated that the court granted him bail on two sureties of Rs 50,000 each.

Elvish Yadav was arrested along with five others on March 17 and charged under the Wildlife Protection Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. He was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody and interrogated by the police. After nearly a week in jail, Yadav was first granted bail by the Gautam Buddha Nagar District Court on March 22.

The arrest stemmed from a complaint filed by the People for Animals (PFA) organization last year, leading to a Noida Police raid on a banquet hall in Sector 51 where five people were arrested. The PFA's FIR named Elvish and accused him of organizing rave parties involving foreigners and arranging poisonous snakes. The Noida Police imposed the 29 NDPS Act on Elvish Yadav, which is associated with drug-related conspiracies such as buying and selling drugs. Bail under this act is typically challenging to obtain.

During the raid, nine venomous snakes were recovered. Removing a snake's venom glands is punishable under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and the offender can face up to seven years in jail.
