Mammootty's much-hyped action thriller Bazooka didn't quite light up the box office the way many expected when it released in April. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for its digital debut-but the wait just got a bit longer.

Initially expected to stream by mid-May, the movie's OTT release has been delayed, sparking speculation across fan circles. Whispers in the industry suggest that the delay has more to do with behind-the-scenes talks rather than technical glitches or strategy missteps.

Though Mammootty films usually find quick takers on streaming platforms, Bazooka didn't seal a digital deal before its theatrical release-something that's becoming increasingly rare for Malayalam films, which are now being lapped up by pan-Indian OTT audiences.

The film, written and directed by Deeno Dennis, is an intense cat-and-mouse game between a cop and a businessman as they team up to hunt down a serial killer. The suspense unfolds through a cleverly layered game of strategy and deception.

The cast includes Tamil director-actor Gautham Vasudev Menon in a key role, along with Babu Antony, Neeta Pillai, Gayathri Iyer, Jagadish, Sidharth Bharathan, Iswarya Menon, and Abin Bino. The movie's technical team features music by Saeed Abbas, visuals by Nimish Ravi and Roby Varghese Raj, and crisp editing from Nishadh Yusuf and Praveen Prabhakar.

While fans wait for an official word, insiders hint that a deal has finally been inked and Bazooka may soon land on Zee5-though nothing has been confirmed by the platform or the makers yet. For now, it's just a matter of time before this slow-burn thriller finds its digital audience.

Thudaram OTT Release Delayed

Meanwhile, the digital release of Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum has been delayed. As per the reports, the movie was supposed to be released this week but it will now make it to the OTT platform in the first week of June.

Jio Hotstar has acquired the digital rights of Mohanlal's movie.
