Bail Denied! Rakhi Sawant Faces Arrest Over Leaked Videos Case With Adil Khan

Bollywood actor Rakhi Sawant's anticipatory bail plea has been denied by a Mumbai court in a case filed against her by her estranged husband for allegedly leaking private videos. The rejection came from Additional sessions judge (Dindoshi court), Shrikant Y Bhosale, on January 8, and the detailed order was made public on Friday.

The case, registered at the suburban Amboli police station, accused Rakhi Sawant under relevant sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act based on a complaint from her estranged husband Adil Khan Durrani. Durrani alleged that Sawant had disseminated their private videos on various online platforms to tarnish his reputation.

In her pre-arrest bail plea, filed through advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, Sawant argued that the FIR was lodged against her with the sole intention of harassment and falsely implicating her. She asserted that the FIR lacked merit and constituted an abuse of the legal process.

The court, however, determined that the material allegedly "transmitted or published" by the actor was not only obscene but also sexually explicit. Considering the facts and circumstances, the court concluded that it was not a suitable case for granting anticipatory bail.

The ongoing dispute between Rakhi Sawant and Adil Khan Durrani has been marked by a series of allegations. In February 2023, Rakhi accused Durrani of physical assault, threats to end her life, and engaging in extramarital affairs while they were still married. Durrani was subsequently arrested and spent an extended period in police custody. The couple eventually separated.

Following Adil's release from jail in August, he made additional claims, alleging that if any harm were to befall him, Rakhi should be held responsible.
