Baby John Movies Review: Varun Dhawan's Film Gets A Good Response At Box Office

Varun Dhawan's much-anticipated film, Baby John, hit theatres on December 25. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee, the movie features Keerty Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi in pivotal roles. It is a remake of Thalapathy Vijay's Theri from 2016. Despite low advance bookings, fans are eager to see how it performs over the weekend.

Early estimates from Sacnilk suggest that Baby John earned Rs 2 crore from morning shows across India, with an occupancy rate just below 14%. The film faces competition from other releases like Pushpa 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King. However, it has already garnered over Rs 3.5 crore in advance sales.

Social Media Buzz

Arjun Kapoor shared his excitement for the film on Instagram, posting the Baby John poster with wishes for its success. "The baby-faced assassin arrives tomorrow on the big screen!!! All the best to the team," he wrote. Karan Johar also extended his support through social media.

The film has received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. While some praise Varun Dhawan's performance and call it a "must for action lovers," others feel it lacks fresh content. Our critic gave it 2.5 stars, noting that while it's a good attempt at fan service, it doesn't offer anything new.

Star Performances

Keerthy Suresh's performance has been well-received by fans who appreciate her acting skills and screen presence. Meanwhile, Wamiqa Gabbi's scenes are gaining attention online as viewers share clips of her role in the film.

During promotions, Varun Dhawan expressed admiration for Thalapathy Vijay, stating, "Vijay is a great actor. I'm a huge fan of him." He also described Baby John as an "Indian Thali," highlighting its diverse themes.

Music and Certification

The makers released a track titled Beast Mode ahead of the film's release. Sung by Raja Kumari, it showcases Varun Dhawan's intense portrayal of a police officer on a mission to rescue his daughter. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted Baby John a U/A certification with a runtime of 161 minutes after suggesting some cuts.

In preparation for the release, Varun Dhawan sought blessings at Ujjain's Mahakaleshwar Temple. As fans eagerly await more updates on Baby John's box office performance, many are particularly excited about Salman Khan's cameo appearance in the film.

The movie opened decently despite facing stiff competition during its Christmas release. With positive word-of-mouth and social media buzz surrounding key performances and cameos, Baby John is expected to attract more viewers in the coming days.
