Baby Girl Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad in Nivin Pauly's Malayalam Film?

Nivin Pauly-starrer Baby Girl has been released on Friday, January 23. It comes a month after his Sarvam Maya hit the screens and became a hit movie at the box office.

Written by Bobby-Sanjay, Baby Girl is directed by Arun Varma. Rudra, Aditi Ravi, Lijomol Jose, Sangeeth Prathap, Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan, Azees Nedumangad, and others in the cast. Sam CS has scored the music, Shyjith Kumaran's editing and Faiz Siddik's cinematography.

The core of Baby Girl centers on a hospital's unthinkable crime: a newborn stolen from her crib. From there, the story plunges its characters into a storm of remorse, duty, and impossible choices as they race to find her. At its heart lies a potent question - what truly makes someone deserving of motherhood?

Yet, the film often trades this emotional weight for breakneck thrills. Rather than lingering on the raw, quiet moments between Ritu and young Meenakshi - two women whose fates are intimately bound to the missing child - the narrative turns the baby into a device for driving sensational twists.
