B Saroja Devi Death: Veteran actress B Saroja Devi passed away on Monday at the age of 87. She had an illustrious career, appearing in over 200 films across Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages. Her journey in cinema began at 17 with the Kannada film "Mahakavi Kalidasa" in 1955. She gained widespread recognition with her role in the Tamil film "Nadodi Mannan" (1958), starring opposite MG Ramachandran.
Born on January 7, 1938, in Bengaluru, Saroja Devi was the fourth daughter of Bhairappa, a police officer, and Rudramma, a homemaker. Despite losing her husband Sri Harsha in 1986, she remained active in the film industry by mentoring young talents and supporting various cinematic initiatives.

B Saroja Devi Achievements
Saroja Devi's career was marked by successful collaborations with prominent actors like Sivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganesan, NT Rama Rao, and Rajkumar. She holds a unique record of playing lead roles in 161 consecutive films from 1955 to 1984. Her pairing with MG Ramachandran resulted in 26 hit films including "Thaai Sollai Thathadhe" and "Needhi Pin Pasam". With Sivaji Ganesan, she delivered hits like "Sabaash Meena" and "Engal Kudumbam Perisu".
In Telugu cinema, she starred alongside NT Rama Rao in popular films such as "Seetarama Kalyanam" and "Jagadeka Veeruni Katha". Her Hindi film credits include notable works like "Paigham", "Opera House", and "Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya". Her last collaboration with MGR was in the film "Arasa Kattalai" in 1967.
