'Ayalaan' Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find Out From Viewers' Response

Sivakarthikeyan and Rakul Preet Singh's 'Ayalaan' has opened to overwhelming positive reviews from the viewers.

The Tamil movie, which was released on Friday ahead of Pongal festival, is directed by 'Indru Netru Naalai' fame and produced by Kotapadi J Rajesh under KJR Studios.

Ayalaan Review

Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Bhanupriya, Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Bala Saravanan and others are part of the cast. The film has music composed by AR Rahman, cinematography handled by Nirav Shah and editing by Ruben.

Story:
The story revolves around a clique of friends who form a bond with an extraterrestrial being. Simultaneously, a team of antagonistic scientists is in hot pursuit, attempting to hinder its progress. To avert a potentially catastrophic outcome for the planet, an alliance between the alien and a compassionate young man becomes crucial, as they unite to thwart the plans of a merciless industrialist whose project poses a significant threat to Earth's existence.

'Ayalaan' Review
'Ayalaan' takes audiences on a rollercoaster ride through a blend of fun, emotions, and action, though not without a few bumps along the way. The first half of the film is a delightful mix of humour and heartfelt moments, creating a strong connection with the audience. As the story progresses into the second half, the shift to action mode is evident, but some pacing issues hinder the overall experience.

The chemistry between SivaKartikeyan and the Alien character is a standout aspect, adding a touch of magic to the narrative. Their bond is portrayed with sincerity, making it a heartwarming highlight of the film.

Visually, the CG work in 'Ayalaan' deserves applause. The seamless integration of the alien and the fantastical elements adds a layer of authenticity to the film. The attention to detail in the CGI contributes to the overall visual appeal.

However, the villain character could have been better designed, leaving room for improvement in terms of depth and impact. A more compelling antagonist could have elevated the stakes and added a layer of complexity to the storyline.

The climax of 'Ayalaan' delivers a feel-good moment, providing a satisfying conclusion to the narrative. The film, with its mix of fun, emotions, and action, is likely to resonate well with kids and family audiences. While the second half may have a few lags, the overall package makes 'Ayalaan' an entertaining watch for those seeking a lighthearted and visually impressive cinematic experience.

What audience say about 'Ayalaan'?
Siddarth Srinivas: #Ayalaan (3.5/5) - What works best for the film is in how @Ravikumar_Dir has made it simple and accessible for all audiences. His creativity flows without limits as he packs the film with kutty kutty ideas that keep popping up the momentum until the end. Appreciable work.

#Ayalaan (3.5/5) - All centre entertainer. An enormously kid-friendly film that keeps the alien at centre stage and drives home great fun around it. A bit too techy at times and action packed towards the end, but this is the closest we've got to a Disney/Pixar film. Enjoyable!
#Ayalaan - VFX wise, there is no complaint whatsoever 👏🔥 full credit goes to the team for pulling off great visuals even though they look a lot of time. The alien, its expressions, the way it walks and dances, even the mass moments - well done!
#Ayalaan Interval: Awesome. From the minute the alien enters the scene, it's just super entertaining. What a visual treat it is with ARR's cool score, the cute buddy relationship between the alien and
@Siva_Kartikeyan
is great to watch. Surely, the kids are gonna have a blast🔥

Ramesh Bala: #Ayalaan [3.5/5] : An alien sci-fi entertainer that caters perfectly our audience..
@Siva_Kartikeyan shoulders the movie along with the alien.. 👏
Comedy and action sequences are the main highlights..
All the supporting actors have done well.. @arrahman music is good..
@Ravikumar_Dir has made sure the movie is entertaining all along..
A Winner and Must watch for family audience and Kids!

Suganth: Ravikumar does it again with #Ayalaan! Gives a local twist to a staple Hollywood high-concept premise to deliver an enjoyable film. There's inventiveness & nifty writing, and the visual effects are mostly seamless. Just falls short of INN, but he does pull off in terms of scale!
I feel the film would have benefitted even more if they had gone for a bit darker second half, with a villain whose actions come across as truly a threat - like Ravi Shankar in INN - but I guess they wanted to keep it very kid-friendly. Still, this is solid work from the team.

Haricharan Pudipeddi: #Ayalaan - 3.5 stars. This is not a star vehicle but it's quite gutsy of
@Siva_Kartikeyan
to make this an out-and-out kids-friendly sci-fi comedy which is the film's biggest strength. It dumbs down the science angle to make it largely accessible. Works quite well. Alien portions are a riot and SK holds well in his zone.

Dipakhariharan: #Ayalaan - Second Half
Entertainment guaranteed ✨
