Audio Of Kannada Director Guruprasad's Last Phone Call Before His Death Goes Viral

A purported audio clip of late Kannada director Guruprasad, who died by suicide in November 2024, has gone viral on social media, reigniting discussions around his tragic death. The clip, reportedly his last phone call, was shared on the Instagram page of leading Kannada daily Udayavani.

Guruprasad's Emotional Call Before Death

Guruprasad

In the recording, Guruprasad is heard in a conversation with his estranged wife Sumithra. Clearly distressed over financial troubles, he expresses frustration over the call and repeatedly talks about ending his life. He states that his only desire was to clear his debts and save money for his wife and daughter. However, Sumithra insists that she called not for financial reasons, but to urge him to speak with their daughter.

The conversation takes a grim turn when Guruprasad makes a reference to actor Darshan, seemingly alluding to the Renuka Swamy murder case. His comments have sparked widespread speculation and debate among fans and film industry insiders.
Police Investigation Underway

The director died by suicide on November 2024. Meanwhile, the Madanayakanahalli police in Bengaluru have launched a thorough probe into the circumstances leading to Guruprasad's death. Initial investigations did not find a suicide note, but authorities recovered several electronic devices, including:

  • A laptop
  • Two tablets
  • Four mobile phones

These devices have been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for analysis, as investigators believe they may hold crucial evidence. Police are also examining whether any videos or messages recorded before his death might provide insights into his state of mind.

Guruprasad was known for movies such as Mata, Eddelu Manjunatha, and Director's Special. Despite his artistic success, he was reportedly struggling with financial difficulties, which many believe played a role in his tragic demise.
