The passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle on Sunday (April 12) has left the Indian music industry in deep mourning. The iconic voice, who defined generations of playback singing, died due to multiple organ failure, as confirmed by her family and doctors. Her last rites will be held on Monday at 4 pm at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, with fans and well-wishers expected to gather in large numbers.

"My mother passed away today. People can pay their last respects from 11 am tomorrow at Casa Grande in Lower Parel, where she lived. The final rites will take place at 4 pm at Shivaji Park," her son Anand Bhosle said.

Asha Bhosle had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital a day earlier after suffering from a chest infection and extreme exhaustion. Her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had shared a health update on social media, expressing hope for recovery at the time.

Born in Mumbai in 2002 to Anand Bhosle and Anuja Bhosle, Zanai was raised in a musically rich environment and studied at the prestigious Institut Le Rosey in Switzerland.

Trained in singing, dancing, songwriting, and acting, she began her journey with YouTube performances in 2020 and has also contributed to projects like the 6 Pack Band.
