Amid Legal Battle With Dhanush, Nayanthara Shares Cryptic Post
Actress Nayanthara has shared a cryptic Instagram post amid her legal dispute with actor Dhanush. Her message, "Karma Says!!! When you destroy someone's life with lies, take it as a loan, it will come back to you with interest," suggests her thoughts on the repercussions of deceitful actions. This comes as she and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, face allegations from Dhanush over the use of footage in their Netflix documentary.
The controversy erupted when Dhanush accused Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan of using unauthorized clips from the 2015 film "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan" in their documentary "Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale." The footage in question was behind-the-scenes material that Dhanush claims was used without his consent. This legal battle has drawn significant media attention.

Legal Proceedings and Demands
The lawsuit was presented before the Madras High Court on November 27. Justice Abdul Quiddhose instructed Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, and others involved to address the accusations against them. Alongside this lawsuit, Dhanush issued a legal notice demanding the removal of the clips from the documentary and seeking Rs 10 crore as compensation for what he termed unauthorized usage.
Nayanthara's lawyer, Rahul Dhawan, defended their position by stating that the disputed footage belonged to Nayanthara's personal collection. He argued that these clips were not owned by Dhanush's production company, Wunderbar Films Private Limited. Dhawan further claimed that the footage had already been shared publicly on social media platforms.
Public Statements and Reactions
Nayanthara has been vocal about her discontent with Dhanush's actions. On November 16, she expressed her frustration through an open letter on Instagram. She criticized Dhanush for demanding compensation for a brief three-second clip from "Naanum Rowdy Dhaan," which she insisted was already available online.
In her letter, Nayanthara questioned Dhanush's character and motives behind seeking such a large sum for minimal footage usage. She remarked, "This is an all-time low from you and speaks so much about your character. I wish you were half the person you portray to be on stage in audio launches in front of your innocent fans."
This ongoing legal tussle between two prominent figures in the film industry has captivated public interest. Both parties have made statements defending their respective positions while awaiting further developments in court proceedings.
