Amaran Makers Drop Controversial Scene; Read More About Sai Pallavi, Sivakarthikeyan Film's Latest Cut

The film "Amaran," featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has been well-received in theatres and on OTT platforms. However, the filmmakers faced legal issues due to a scene where a phone number was mistakenly shown. This led to a college student in Chennai receiving numerous calls. The filmmakers have since edited the scene to rectify their error.

In the movie, Sai Pallavi's character, Indhu, gives her phone number to Sivakarthikeyan's character, Amaran. Unfortunately, this number belonged to Vaageesan, an engineering student from Chennai. He received over 4,000 calls from people mistaking his number for Pallavi's. This incident caused significant disruption in his life.

Amaran Controversial Scene

Legal Troubles for Amaran Makers

Vaageesan filed a complaint stating that his phone number was used without consent. He mentioned that the constant calls affected his sleep and studies. As a result, he is seeking Rs 1.1 crore as compensation from the film's producers for the inconvenience caused.

The film "Amaran" premiered on October 31 during Diwali celebrations with Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi as leads. On Diwali day, Vaageesan began receiving calls from unknown numbers. Initially, he tried explaining it wasn't Sai Pallavi's number but eventually put his phone on silent due to the incessant calls.

Impact on Student's Life

Vaageesan also started getting similar messages on WhatsApp, which made him realise that his mobile number had been used in the film. The situation became overwhelming for him as it disrupted both his personal and academic life significantly.

The makers of "Amaran" have now corrected their mistake by editing out the controversial scene from the movie. This change was implemented after recognising the impact it had on Vaageesan's life and ensuring no further inconvenience occurs.

The movie "Amaran" was released on Netflix last Friday following its theatrical success. Despite this hiccup, it continues to receive praise across India for its engaging storyline and performances by Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi.
