Allu Arjun Steps Forward With ₹25 Lakh Donation To Family Of Woman Killed In Stampede At Pushpa 2 Premiere

In a heartfelt video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), Allu Arjun addressed a tragic incident that occurred during the premiere of his film "Pushpa 2: The Rule" at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4. The event turned fatal when a fan lost her life in a stampede, and her son was left hospitalized.

Arjun, who was visiting the venue with his family to celebrate the film's release among fans, expressed his deep sorrow over the incident. He emphasized the importance of safety at such gatherings, urging fans to exercise caution during film premieres to prevent such unfortunate events in the future.

Following the devastating event, the actor conveyed his condolences and pledged support to the bereaved family. In his statement, Arjun said, "Deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident at Sandhya Theatre. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving family during this unimaginably difficult time. I want to assure them they are not alone in this pain and will meet the family personally. While respecting their need for space to grieve, I stand committed to extend every possible assistance to help them navigate through this challenging journey." This gesture reflects his commitment to the well-being of his fans and the communities that support his work.

Arjun also disclosed that he has donated ₹25 lakh to the family of the deceased, promising to cover their medical expenses and support the children's future needs to the best of his ability. He expressed his sorrow, stating that no words or actions could truly compensate for their loss but affirmed his emotional support for the family during this challenging time. "Nothing we say or do can help with the loss. But from our side, we're emotionally there for you no matter what you need. From my side, I want to donate ₹25 lakh as a gesture to show I am there for you, especially for the children. We will also cover any medical expenses; we understand it's difficult for the family," Arjun said in the video.

The aftermath of the tragedy saw legal action being taken, with a case registered against Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under sections 105 and 118(1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station. This legal move came following a complaint lodged by the deceased's family. Meanwhile, the young boy who suffered from asphyxiation during the stampede remains in critical condition. In response to the incident, Telangana's cinematography minister, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, announced that benefit shows would be banned in the state going forward.

The film's producers and Arjun's team have expressed their distress over the incident. Mythri Movie Makers, along with actress Rashmika Mandanna, shared their anguish upon learning of the fan's death. Producer Bunny Vas, representing Arjun's team, has reportedly reached out to the family, offering financial support. This collective response from the film's team highlights their concern and commitment to addressing the aftermath of the tragedy.
