Akshay Kumar Reacts To Paresh Rawal’s Exit From Hera Pheri 3: ‘We’ve Worked Together For 35 Years’
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has spoken out about his strained relations with veteran actor Paresh Rawal following the latter's unexpected exit from Hera Pheri 3. The actor-producer, speaking at the trailer launch of Housefull 5, addressed the controversy but firmly refused to allow disrespect toward Rawal.
The third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise is being directed by Priyadarshan. Paresh Rawal had earlier confirmed he would reprise his iconic character but later shocked fans by announcing his departure from the film. This led to widespread speculation and criticism on social media, with some calling his decision "foolish."

Akshay Kumar, however, came to Rawal's defense during the event. "Let me first say, using the word 'foolish' for my co-star is unacceptable. That's not right. We've worked together for 35 years. He is a great actor and a very good friend. I admire him immensely. Jo bhi kuch hai (whatever the matter is), this is not the right platform to discuss it. This is a serious issue and it is currently being handled in court. So, I don't think I should speak about it," Akshay stated.
Earlier reports had suggested Paresh Rawal's exit was due to creative differences. However, the actor clarified that wasn't the case. In an interview with Mid Day, he said, "I know my exit came as a shock to many. We, along with Priyadarshanji, have great chemistry. But I opted out because, at this point, I didn't feel like I was part of it. It's final for now. But as I always say - never say never. One never knows what the future holds."
Further quashing speculation, Rawal took to X (formerly Twitter), writing, "I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I reiterate that there are no creative disagreements with the filmmaker. I have immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan."
Meanwhile, as producer, Akshay Kumar has reportedly demanded ₹25 crore in damages from Rawal for what he claims is the sabotage of the project. In response, Paresh Rawal said on Sunday that his lawyer has sent a formal reply justifying his departure.
"My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has sent an appropriate response regarding my rightful termination and exit. Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest," Rawal posted on X.
While the legal battle continues behind the scenes, the public fallout between two of Bollywood's most beloved actors has left fans divided, with many hoping the duo reconciles and returns for another round of their signature comedy.
