Fans have always associated the Welcome franchise with the unforgettable trio of Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. Their comic timing and chemistry in the 2007 blockbuster turned the film into a cult favourite.

When Akshay was missing from Welcome Back (2015), many viewers felt the film wasn't the same. Now, while Akshay has returned for Welcome To The Jungle, Nana and Anil are not part of the latest instalment, leaving fans curious about their absence.

Addressing the same, Akshay recently shared that the bond between the original cast remains as strong as ever.

Speaking to PTI, Akshay said that Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor are like family and expressed confidence that they would reunite if another Welcome film is made.

"Welcome is a full family. This is Nana, Mr Anil, me and all the people. This is like family. If Welcome 4 is ever made, you will find all of them," he said.

The statement has given fans hope that the iconic trio could be seen together again in the franchise.

Ahmed Khan Reveals Nana And Anil Stayed Connected During The Shoot

Director Ahmed Khan also spoke about the veteran actors, revealing that they remained in touch throughout the filming of Welcome To The Jungle.

He shared that Nana Patekar would often call to check how the shoot was progressing and even joked, "Tell Akshay that I am not available."

Anil Kapoor also reached out to the director and wished the team well. According to Ahmed, the actor told him, "How is it going? Next time we will plan something."

Their conversations suggest that although the actors are missing from this chapter, they continue to share a warm relationship with the team.

New Characters Step Into The Welcome Universe

While fan-favourite gangsters Uday Shetty and Majnu Bhai are absent this time, the film introduces two new characters from their family.

Suniel Shetty plays Yeda Anna, while Arshad Warsi essays the role of Romeo, the siblings of the iconic characters. The makers have added these fresh faces while keeping the signature comic chaos of the franchise alive.
