Akshay Kumar Breaks Silence on ‘Mahakal Chalo' Song Controversy: Responds to Criticism with a Bold Statement
After facing objections from a priest association over certain visuals in his devotional song Mahakal Chalo, Akshay Kumar has finally addressed the controversy. The association claimed that some elements in the video, including Akshay embracing the Shivling and the manner in which bhasma (sacred ash) was offered, were not in accordance with traditional practices.
Speaking at a press conference for his upcoming film Kannappa, where he portrays Lord Shiva, Akshay defended his actions. He stated, "Since childhood, my parents taught me that God is like our parents. If hugging your parents is not wrong, then why should this be?"

He further asserted, "If my strength comes from my devotion, and someone misunderstands it, that's not my fault."
Recently, Akshay also visited the Maha Kumbh and praised the arrangements, saying, "Managing 60 crore people in 45 days is incredible. Everything was well-organized and peaceful. My experience was amazing."
