AK 64: Adhik Ravichandran Confirms Next With Ajith Kumar

Director Adhik Ravichandran has officially confirmed that he will helm Ajith Kumar's next film, tentatively titled AK 64. The announcement comes after the massive success of their previous collaboration, Good Bad Ugly (2024), which emerged as one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2025.

Speaking to reporters, Adhik said, "Yes, I'm doing the next film with Ajith Kumar sir. I'm very happy to have this opportunity for AK 64. It will be a different kind of film compared to Good Bad Ugly and will be a treat for fans."

Produced by Romeo Pictures, the banner behind Ajith's hits like Viswasam (2019) and Vivegam (2017), the film's official announcement and further details are expected soon.

Mohanlal in Talks for a Key Role

Exciting reports suggest that Malayalam superstar Mohanlal may play a pivotal role in AK 64. If finalized, this would mark the first on-screen collaboration between Mohanlal and Ajith Kumar, much to the delight of fans. Mohanlal has previously appeared in Tamil cinema, including Jilla (2014) with Thalapathy Vijay and Jailer (2023) with Superstar Rajinikanth.

Srinidhi Shetty as Female Lead?

Additionally, Srinidhi Shetty, who made her Tamil debut in Cobra (2022), is rumored to be the leading lady in the project. However, an official confirmation is awaited.

Meanwhile, Ajith Kumar, an avid motorsports enthusiast, recently addressed his filming schedule in an interview. He stated, "I don't need to be told what to do. For now, as I plan to pursue motorsports not just as a driver but as a team owner, I won't be signing films during the racing season. Between October and March-before the next season begins-I'll likely take up films. This way, I can focus fully on racing when the season is on."

Good Bad Ugly's Box Office Success

Good Bad Ugly, released on April 10, 2025, has been a major commercial success, grossing over ₹173.05 crore in India. The film dominated the Tamil Nadu box office, earning ₹145.65 crore, including a massive ₹28.5 crore on its opening day. However, its performance in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Karnataka was relatively modest.
