Aishwarya Rai has been a regular at Cannes Festival since 2002, when the event showed off the film 'Devdas' in the 'Out of Competition' section, giving Aishwarya Rai one of her first instances of international exposure during the early years of her career. The film, which released in India on 12 June, 2002, grossed around ₹41 crore, making it one of the highest grossing films of that year.
Aishwarya Rai earlier this year also started an ad campaign with L'Oréal Paris this year. The ad campaign was for their product line 'Total Repair 5' which is meant to help repair damaged hair. As part of this partnership with L'Oréal, Aishwarya Rai is making her way to Cannes as a brand ambassador for the beauty company. Joining her in Cannes is another brand ambassador for the company, Aditi Rao Hydari.
L'Oréal Paris, as reported by Afaqs!, has been the makeup partner for the Cannes Film Festival since 1997, and continues its partnership with them this year.
