After Saif Ali Khan’s Attack, Kareena Kapoor Asks Public for Privacy and Understanding

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, is stable and out of danger after undergoing surgery for stab wounds at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. The actor was attacked by an intruder who broke into his Bandra residence around 3 am on Thursday.

Saif, who resides on the 12th floor of Satguru Sharan Apartments, confronted the intruder during the incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dikshit Gedam confirmed that six police teams are actively working to apprehend the suspect.

Maharashtra's Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, stated that authorities have gathered information about the suspect's identity, and the search is ongoing.

What We Know About the Intruder

1. Entry Through Fire Escape
DCP Dikshit Gedam revealed that the intruder used the fire escape to access Saif Ali Khan's flat, intending to commit burglary.

2. Alert Domestic Help
Saif's domestic help, Elyimma Philips, also known as Lima, was the first to notice the intruder. She attempted to intervene but sustained injuries to her hand during the struggle.

3. Scuffle with Saif
Hearing Lima's screams, Saif confronted the intruder. During the altercation, the suspect attacked the actor with a knife.

4. CCTV Evidence
The attacker was captured on CCTV footage. After stabbing Saif, he fled the building using the staircase.

5. Ongoing Investigation
DCP Gedam confirmed that one suspect has been identified, and ten detection teams are working in different directions to locate and arrest him.

Saif Ali Khan's Health Update

Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital provided an update on Saif Ali Khan's condition:
- The actor sustained a severe injury to the thoracic spinal cord, with a knife lodged in his spine.
- Surgery was successfully performed to remove the knife and repair leaking spinal fluid.
- Additional deep wounds on his left hand and neck were treated by the hospital's plastic surgery team.

"Saif Ali Khan was admitted at 2 am with a history of assault. He underwent surgery and is now completely stable and out of danger," Dr. Dange stated.

The investigation continues as authorities work to bring the suspect to justice.
