After Dhanush Attended Mrunal's Birthday, Sivakarthikeyan Wanted Her As Heroine: Producer's Explosive Claim

Producer Balaji Prabhu has made a series of shocking allegations against actor Sivakarthikeyan, claiming that the Amaran actor's career is being hindered by his attempts to emulate fellow star Dhanush.

In a video that has since gone viral, Balaji Prabhu stated, "It is true that Sivakarthikeyan did not concentrate much on his career. He has been following Dhanush and he wants to do whatever Dhanush does. Today it became a hindrance for him."

Prabhu cited a specific example, alleging that after Dhanush attended actor Mrunal Thakur's birthday party amid news of their potential collaboration, Sivakarthikeyan subsequently asked his own producers to cast Thakur in his films.

There were reports of Dhanush dating Mrunal Thakur after he attended her birthday party in August.

Prabhhu further pointed to the recent performance of Sivakarthikeyan's films to support his claim. While acknowledging the success of 'Amaran,' Prabhu attributed it to the subject matter and the "extraordinary acting" of co-star Sai Pallavi. He contrasted this with the alleged commercial failure of the completed film 'Madrasi' with director AR Murugadoss, claiming its distribution rights for multiple territories remained unsold and that theatres were empty on its opening day.

"If he continues this, he will not figure in the top 10 actors in Tamil," Prabhu warned, adding that Sivakarthikeyan's place has already been taken by director-actor Pradeep Ranganathan.

The comments have brought renewed attention to the long-standing and complex relationship between Sivakarthikeyan and Dhanush. Their professional bond began strongly with the 2012 film '3,' and Dhanush later played a pivotal role as producer for Sivakarthikeyan's early hits 'Ethir Neechal' and 'Kaaki Sattai.'

However, rumours of a rift emerged in subsequent years, with industry talk centring on salary disagreements for Dhanush's productions and a perceived professional distancing. These rumours were further fueled by fan wars, especially when the actors' films 'Captain Miller' and 'Ayalaan' clashed at the box office, and by public remarks from both stars that were interpreted as indirect jabs.
