Adnan Sami Slams Former Pakistani Minister Fawad Hussain Who Questioned His Citizenship: 'Illiterate Idiot'
Singer Adnan Sami became embroiled in a heated exchange with former Pakistani minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain after the latter questioned whether the composer would also be sent back to Pakistan, following India's directive for Pakistani nationals to leave the country in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Describing Fawad Hussain as an "illiterate idiot", Sami reminded him that he had been granted Indian citizenship as far back as 2016.

The spat began after Hussain referred to a directive by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who had instructed state governments to ensure the prompt departure of Pakistani citizens.
On Friday, Amit Shah requested the chief ministers of all states to ensure that no Pakistani citizens remained in India beyond the 27th April deadline. Those present in India on medical visas were ordered to leave by April 29.
"What about Adnan Sami?" asked the former Pakistani minister. Sami, famed for albums such as 'Kabhi To Nazar Milao', responded swiftly on Twitter, stating, "Who's going to tell this illiterate idiot!"
The fiery exchange did not end there, as Hussain further provoked Sami by claiming that the singer hailed from Lahore.
Correcting him, Sami clarified that his roots lay in Peshawar, criticising Hussain for his inaccurate knowledge despite having served as Minister of Information.
"My roots are from Peshawar, not Lahore!! To think that you were Minister of (Mis) Information and have no knowledge of any information... And you were Minister of Science? Was that the science of BULLS**T??" Sami tweeted.
Even that you didn’t get right you dumb Ass…My roots are from Peshawar- Not Lahore!! To think that you were Minister of (Mis) Information and have no knowledge about any information!!!! Meri tho hawa nikal gaee- Tu abhi bhi Balloon hai! And you were Minister of Science?… Was… https://t.co/QRuRggBPuO

Fawad Hussain had previously served as Minister of Information and Minister of Science and Technology during the Imran Khan-led administration.
Adnan Sami, who now lives in Mumbai with his family, obtained Indian citizenship in 2016. In earlier interviews, Sami revealed that the process had taken 18 years and that he had been "stateless for a year and a half".
He had also disclosed in a BBC interview that he had felt threatened whilst living in Pakistan.
