Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee Seeks PM Modi, S Jaishankar's Help After Friend Shot Dead In US

Actress and former Bigg Boss contestant Devoleena Bhattacharjee informed her social media followers that her friend Amarnath Ghosh had been shot dead in the US on Tuesday evening, on Friday, March 1.

A lengthy note was shared by the actress on her official X account, in which she requested External Affairs Minister of India, Dr. S Jaishankar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene.

Devoleena also mentioned that the reason behind her friend's murder has not yet been determined. In her note, she wrote, "My friend #Amarnathghosh was shot & killed in St. Louis Academy neighbourhood, US on Tuesday evening. He was the only child in the family, his mother died 3 years back, and his father passed away during his childhood."

The actress further added, "Well, the reason, accused details, and everything else are not revealed yet or perhaps no one is left in his family to fight for it except for a few friends. He was from Kolkata, an excellent dancer, was pursuing a PhD, and was taking an evening walk when suddenly he was shot multiple times by an unknown assailant. Some friends in the US are trying to claim the body, but there is still no update about it. @IndianEmbassyUS kindly see to it if you can. At least we should know the reason for his murder. @DrSJaishankar @narendramodi."

Devoleena is known for her frequent activity on social media platforms, where she regularly expresses her views and opinions on a variety of issues. In terms of her professional endeavours, Devoleena gained prominence for portraying the docile character of Gopi Bahu in the popular daily soap opera Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Additionally, she played a special role in the show's reboot.
