Actor Lalit Manchanda Found Dead In Meerut: Police Suspect No Foul Play, Investigation Underway

Hindi TV actor Lalit Manchanda was found dead at his Meerut home on Monday. He is survived by wife Taaru Manchanda.

The 36-year-old actor is believed to have died by suicide due to stress and financial struggle. After the local authorities were alerted about the incident, the cops arrived at the spot and his body was sent for postmortem.

Initial findings from the police investigation suggest that no foul play or third-party involvement is suspected in the death of actor Lalit Manchanda. However, the investigation is still on and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his demise.

Lalit's last rites were reportedly conducted in Meerut on Monday evening.

Following the incident, the police have begun questioning his family members and close friends to better understand what may have led to his death. With no suicide note found at the scene, investigators are also exploring possibilities related to mental health struggles and personal challenges.

According to reports, those close to Lalit have mentioned that he had been battling mental stress and emotional difficulties for some time.

CINTAA Mourns the Loss

The Cine and TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) confirmed Lalit Manchanda's passing on Tuesday. Sharing a tribute on their official Instagram page, they posted a photo of the actor with the message:

"CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Lalit Manchanda (member since 2012)."

A Career in Supporting Roles

Lalit Manchanda was known for his brief but memorable roles in various Bollywood films and television shows. His appearances included popular series like Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, India's Most Wanted, Crime Patrol, and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.

In other news, Piyush Poorey, ex-husband of television actress Shubhangi Atre, passed away after a prolonged battle with liver cirrhosis.

Piyush, a digital marketing professional, had reportedly been unwell for some time. Confirming the news to The Times of India, Shubhangi said, "Your thoughtfulness during this time means a great deal to me. I request you to give me some time to talk about this." Though the two were no longer in contact, a close source shared that Shubhangi is grieving the loss. "She is mourning. She resumed shooting for Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain on Sunday," the source added.
