Actor Darshan Arrested In Murder Case; Deceased Allegedly Sent Obscene Message To Pavithra Gowda

Kannada actor Darshan has been arrested by cops in connection with a murder case on Tuesday.

The actor has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man named Renuka Swamy, who allegedly sent obscene messages to actress Pavithra Gowda. Over 10 people including his close aides Pattanagere Vinay, Kiran, Madhu, Lakshman, Anand, Raghavendra have been arrested, so far.

The deceased, Renuka Swamy, worked at a medical shop and hailed from Chitradurga.

Speaking to media, B Dayananda, Bengaluru City Commissioner, said, "The body was discovered on June 9. More than ten people have been arrested in this case. An actor is taken into custody. Action will be taken after the inquiry."

He added, "Deceased Renukaswamy was 33 years old. We will be able to give more information only after further investigation," The preliminary investigation has revealed that the deceased had sent derogatory messages to Darshan's wife, the Bengaluru City Commissioner added.

"The actor was arrested in Mysuru today at 8.30 am by Vijayanagar ACP Chandan. He was at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Mysuru for shooting," the top cop stated.

Based on TV media reports, it is alleged that Darshan's aides killed Renuka Swamy in his presence and disposed of the body in Kamakshi Palya.

When the body was discovered, it was being consumed by dogs. A security guard from a nearby apartment noticed and alerted the authorities.

Law enforcement swiftly responded and established a connection through his Call Detail Records (CDR). They also accessed his social media accounts, where it was revealed that he had sent obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda.

Earlier, there were rumours that Darshan had an affair with Pavithra Gowda, who is also being questioned by the cops.

Vijaya Lakshmi, the wife of Kannada actor Darshan, had come down heavily on Pavithra Gowda over her controversial Instagram post.

Darshan's wife retaliated with the photos of Pavithra with another man named Sanjay Singh. The former questioned the "moral standing" of the latter.

"I hope this woman has to come into her senses before posting somebody else's husband picture,it talks about her character and moral standing, knowing that the man is married she still choose to come and stay for their own personal needs and agenda... These images clearly show kushi gowda is the daughter of Pavithra and sanjay Singh....I generally don't take social media to raise voice over personal issues but I feel now it's time to raise my voice in the best interest of my family.... Will take strict legal action against people who are trying to give a different image to the entire society. @ Sanjaysingh @ Khushigowda @shaanvisamsuri pavithra Gowda," Vijaya Lakshmi said in her post.

This message indicated that Pavithra and Darshan have been in a relationship for 10 years. In November 2024, she had shared a video from her daughter Khushi's birthday celebration on Instagram where Darshan is seen cutting the cake with her and dancing with her.

In the later days, Darshan and his wife Vijaya Lakshmi were spotted together.
