"Actually, main bahut romantic aadmi hoon. Ma kasam, main bahut romantic hoon. Bahut funny lagta hai bolte hue par aap meri dono biwiyon se poochh sakte hain ye baat. Sach bol raha hoon main. Because main hoon uss type ka (I'm a very romantic guy. I swear on my mother, I'm very romantic. It sounds funny, but you can ask both my wives. I'm telling the truth. I'm that type). I'm a very mushy romantic person," Aamir shared.

Aamir's Romantic Journey

Aamir first married Reena Dutta in 1986, prior to his Bollywood breakthrough in his cousin Mansoor Khan's 1988 romantic drama 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak'. The couple had two children, Junaid Khan and Ira Khan, before parting ways in 2002.

Following his divorce, Aamir began a relationship with Kiran Rao, who worked as an Assistant Director on the set of Aamir's production debut, Ashutosh Gowariker's 2001 cult period sports drama 'Lagaan'.

Aamir and Kiran tied the knot in 2005 and welcomed their son Azad through surrogacy in 2011. However, the couple separated amicably in 2021.

Despite the divorces, Aamir maintains strong friendships with both his ex-wives. Last year, he was seen dancing hand-in-hand with Reena at their daughter Ira's wedding in Udaipur and consoling her after the passing of her father.

Meanwhile, Aamir and Kiran continue to co-parent Azad and collaborate professionally. Aamir co-produced Kiran's latest directorial effort, 'Laapataa Ladies', which was selected as India's official entry for the 2025 Academy Awards but did not make the shortlist.

Upcoming Projects

On the professional front, Aamir will next star in RS Prasanna's 'Sitaare Zameen Par', described as a spiritual successor to his 2007 directorial masterpiece, 'Taare Zameen Par'.
