The official circular from the School Branch confirms that all Delhi government schools will remain closed for regular teaching from May 11 to June 30, 2026. Within this break, remedial classes for chosen students are scheduled between May 11 and May 23, 2026, excluding Sundays, and will depend on available teachers and infrastructure in each school.

The Directorate of Education states that each remedial day will have three classroom periods, each lasting one hour. Teachers are required to be on campus from 7:20 am to 11:00 am, while students will attend from 7:30 am to 10:30 am, following a fixed timetable designed for focused study during the morning hours.

For Classes 9 and 10, remedial teaching will mainly target Science and Mathematics, as these subjects often determine promotion and board readiness. The Head of School may add extra subjects after reviewing students’ results and learning gaps. For Class 12, each Head of School will select subjects based on local academic needs and performance data.

The Directorate of Education has set several conditions for Delhi remedial classes 2026. Students must wear the regular school uniform during classes, and attendance will be recorded online daily. Schools must collect parental consent or a No Objection Certificate before a student joins. Staff have been asked to give particular support to students identified as needy or academically weak.

Library rooms must stay open for self-study and issue of books, and schools have been told to keep safe drinking water and essential facilities ready for attending students. In double-shift schools, remedial lessons will run separately in each shift’s wing so that both sets of students can attend. The circular adds that guest or contract teachers may also be assigned if regular staff are not sufficient, while District Deputy Directors of Education will monitor how schools run these classes throughout the summer vacation period.
