CBSE Class XII Results 2026: Students across India rejoice as they were waiting for the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026,which was declared at 1.40 pm. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recorded a decline in the overall Class 12 pass percentage for 2026 compared to the previous year. According to official data released by the board, the overall pass percentage for full subjects stands at 85.20% in 2026, down by 3.19 percentage points from 88.39% recorded in 2025.

More than 18.5 lakh candidates sat for the tests, the largest batch so far. Officials have not announced the exact date and time, adding pressure for students planning further studies.

The CBSE Class 12 examinations this year ran in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. Papers were held in India and in overseas centres during the same window. Board officials are expected to publish results online first, along with digital marksheets. Students are already preparing login details so they can access their scores as soon as they go live.

How to check CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 online

Students can now view the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 on several official platforms. The main websites are cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in and cbseresults.nic.in. Mark sheets will also appear on DigiLocker and the UMANG application. Candidates will need their name, roll number, date of birth, and parents’ names. These details must match the information submitted during registration.

DigiLocker had already displayed a brief notice saying “Coming Soon” on its website. A similar alert appeared on UMANG, signalling that the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 could arrive shortly. Last year, UMANG and DigiLocker posted the same phrase before the results. That time, the CBSE Class 12 result was announced on 13 May 2025, soon after these notifications appeared.

Previous dates and trends for CBSE Class 12th Result 2026

Last year, CBSE released Class 12 results on 13 May, following the “coming soon” alerts on the apps. This year, students note that more than 21 hours have passed since DigiLocker issued a similar message. There is still no official confirmation on the result date. Based on past patterns, many expect the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 in the second week of May 2026.

The Board declared the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 for Science, Commerce and Humanities on the same day. Stream-wise performance statistics are scheduled to be shared with the scores. In the CBSE Class 12 Result 2025, children with special needs recorded a pass percentage of 93.15%. Among these students, 290 scored above 90%, and 55 achieved more than 95%.

More than 18.5 lakh candidates appeared for the Class 12 exams in 2026, a new high for CBSE. The board reported 16,92,794 examinees in 2024 and 17,04,367 in 2025. Compartment cases have risen as well. In 2024, 1,22,170 students were placed in the compartment category. That number increased to 1,29,095 candidates last year.

Students who prefer offline methods can still check CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 without internet access. The Board has enabled IVRS, or Interactive Voice Response System, to provide pass–fail status and marks. SMS-based services are also available, allowing candidates to receive scores directly on phones. These options are useful in areas with poor connectivity or heavy website traffic.

To use DigiLocker for CBSE Class 12th Result 2026, students must first create an account. On the DigiLocker website, select “Get Started” and enter the access code shared by the school. After that, verify the mobile number using the one-time password. Once the account is active, the CBSE marksheet will appear automatically when released.

The UMANG app also decalred the CBSE Class 12th Result 2026 once declared. After downloading UMANG from Google Play Store or Apple App Store, users should sign in with their mobile number. Then search for “CBSE”, choose Class 12, and enter roll number and date of birth. The digital marksheet can then be viewed and downloaded for records.

CBSE last year reiterated its 75% attendance requirement for students of Classes 10 and 12. The guidelines, issued on 4 August, apply to the 2025–26 academic session. Schools must inform families about the minimum attendance rule and limited relaxation conditions. These include extended illness, the death of a parent, serious emergencies, and recognised sports participation.
