LS Polls: BJP's K Annamalai Vs DMK's Ganapathy Rajkumar Vs AIADMK's S Ramachandran; Here's What Coimbatore Say
With the Lok Sabha elections 2024 around the corner, the ruling BJP is looking forward to better its performance in the down south this time. The saffron party, which swept many Hindi heartlands in 2019, is eyeing to dent the regional parties at large to achieve its target of 370 plus seats. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP has decided to go solo in Tamil Nadu this time and the contest of Coimbatore is going to be a high-profile triangular battle.
BJP is betting big on popular leader K Annamalai, while former alliance partner All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has placed Ramachandran Govindarasu from Coimbatore seat. The third big player is Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)'s Ganapathy P Rajkumar. All three leaders have a massive following and are known for connecting with people on ground.

Notably, many other candidates would also try their luck from this seat, but political pundits have tagged the Contest of Coimbatore as a triangular battle between the big 3 players from BJP, AIADMK and DMK.
What People Of Coimbatore Think:
When survey agencies tried to find what the people of Coimbatore think and to whom they are going to vote this time, a mixed reaction was reported, indicating that it is going to be an enthralling battle this time. A 42-year-old, local resident, Abdul, told media that people of the constituency are divided this time as every party is trying hard to woo them. "We can't say who will win, it is a neck-and-neck battle," said Abdul.
An auto driver, on the condition of anonymity, said, "It is going to be an easy win for the ruling party (DMK) this time."
However, first-time voter Rajesh thinks differently. He said K Annamalai has massive support from youth and people will elect BJP in Coimbatore this time.
While, 36-year-old Rajeshwari, a homemaker, said "Coimbatore has always been a stronghold for the AIADMK. And the battle here is always between the AIADMK and the DMK".
