Andhra CM meets President, to meet PM

Amaravati, Aug 5: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met President Pranab Mukherjee on July 4 in New Delhi, amid demands for special category status to his state.

Andhra Bhavan officials said Naidu met the President and invited him for the Krishna Pushkarmas, a festival of River Krishna which occurs once in every 12 years and is celebrated with much fanfare in the state.

Accompanied by Union Minister Ashok Gajapathy Raju and TDP MP Y S Chowdary, Naidu also met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tonight.

Tomorrow, he is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan and Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.
