YouTuber Ilakkiya Hospitalised After Consuming Excessive Nutritional Supplements

Popular YouTuber Ilakkiya was hospitalised on Friday in Chennai, allegedly after consuming excessive nutritional supplements.

Ilakkiya gained popularity through her TikTok videos, which garnered her a massive fanbase. She quickly became a renowned TikTok star by posting videos featuring dance, music, and acting in revealing attire.

Ilakkiya, who resides in Kattupakkam near Poonamallee, was admitted after allegedly taking an overdose of nutritional supplements. Doctors who examined her discovered that she had consumed an excessive amount of nutritional supplements, which are typically used for beauty and fitness.

It appears that the overdose of these supplements led to an intoxicating effect. She has been immediately transferred to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for further treatment, where she is currently receiving intensive care, according to a report in Oneindia Tamil.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident. They are probing from various angles to determine if she intentionally attempted suicide by consuming too many nutritional supplements or if there was another reason. The hospitalization of the popular YouTuber Ilakkiya has saddened her fans.

TikTok Videos

Ilakkiya once stated that she initially posted decent TikTok videos, but when they didn't get many likes, she chose a more glamorous path. Even after TikTok was banned, she continued to post similar videos on her other social media platforms. Later, Ilakkiya received movie offers, but none of her films were released. She also mentioned once that many people had deceived her by promising film opportunities but exploiting her, leading her to abandon her cinematic aspirations.

Last year, during a show hosted by actress Shakeela, Ilakkiya tearfully shared, "My mother passed away when I was in the third grade. My life took a different turn after my father remarried. If my mother had been alive, my life would have been different. I've been betrayed many times by people who pretended to love me."

Later, Ilakkiya started a cooking channel. She began posting videos on this channel wearing modest clothes. She mentioned starting the channel because she enjoyed cooking and had been cooking since she was eight years old. However, she expressed her sadness to Shakeela about comments like, "Won't you show glamour anymore? Don't pretend to be chaste?"

Despite the negativity, she continued to gain a large number of views and good income by sharing cooking recipes and beauty tips on her own YouTube channel.

Three months ago, Ilakkiya built her own house in Chennai and moved in. She had also shared photos of her housewarming ceremony with her friends on Instagram, including pictures of her new home.
