Why 'Leo' Audio Launch Is Cancelled & How Vijay Fans Are Reacting To It?

The makers of actor Vijay's upcoming Tamil movie 'Leo' have cancelled the audio launch of the movie over "safety constraints."

However, the fans believe that the event was cancelled due to political pressure. In an official statement, the Seven Screen Studio said, "Considering overflowing passes requests & safety constraints, we have decided not to conduct theLeo Audio Launch. In respect of the fans' wishes, we will keep you engaged with frequent updates. P.S. As many would imagine, this is not due to political pressure or any other reasons."

The event was scheduled to take place on September 30 at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

A few days ago, rumors circulated suggesting that Red Giant Movies, a production house owned by DMK minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, was exerting pressure on the makers of 'Leo' to secure distribution rights in Tamil Nadu.

As the makers refused to budge, the ruling party was reluctant to grant event permission to organise the event. However, these rumors have been debunked with an official announcement from the makers.

The makers have said that they will give all film updates via their official Twitter (X) account.

Vijay's manager Jagadish, who has co-produced the film, said, "It is a very hard decision and We feel the same level of disappointment as each one of the fan will go through. Despite working out various options and tremendous effort, we had to take this tough call, considering the extreme overflow in tickets demand and prioritising the safety of the guests."

The fans of Vijay are venting out their anger at the ruling DMK, blaming the party for the cancellation of 'Leo' audio launch. They have started expressing their views using the hashtag - #DMKFearsThalapathyVIJAY - on X.

"People who are saying crowd management as a reason that the capacity is 10K & ticket requests were 100K!!😲 Don't the producer know about the ticket demand will be this much only from day one itself? So many alternative options could have been thought of & executed..its after all the biggest promo material for your film & now its gone..nothing could match a full-fledged AL vibe," one user said.

Second user stated, "Long ago, @annamalai_k pointed out that the #DMK government will use every trick in the book to hinder #Thalapathy @actorvijay's entry into politics. This is what is happening now!!! #BJP #MakkalIyakkam"

Third user commented, "Red giant & Sun pictures dominating Kollywood. In the last 3 years, all big movies released only by them. SAC knocked madam Jayalalitha's door on "kavalan" movie release. Now history repeating for #Leo DMK should bite the dust in upcoming elections for everyone's future."
