Water Level At Dams In Tamil Nadu: Mettur Reaches 112.71 Feet
The water level in Mettur Dam has seen a substantial rise in storage this year due to consistent southwest monsoon rains.
The dam, which is officially known as the Stanley Reservoir in Mettur, is a critical water source for Tamil Nadu. The water level, on June 2, has reached 112.71 feet against its full capacity of 120 feet.

As per a report in the IANS, the dam holds 81,983 million cubic feet (mcft) of water - 87.71 per cent of its full storage capacity of 93,470 mcft.
In 2024-25, Tamil Nadu received 305 tmcft of Cauvery water from Karnataka from June 1 to May 31 which is 128 tmcft more than the Supreme Court's mandated 177 tmcft. It This surplus highlights improved water availability in Karnataka's upstream reservoirs. With water levels steadily rising-from 75,250 mcft (80.51%) on May 1 to 81,983 mcft now-WRD officials have initiated flood control measures anticipating further rainfall.
