Vijay's TVK Set For First Public Rally: When And Where? Full Deets

Actor Vijay is gearing up to make a significant mark in Tamil Nadu politics with the upcoming inaugural state conference of his political party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK). The much-anticipated event is scheduled for September 23 in Vikravandi, Villupuram district.

The preparations are already in full swing, with TVK General Secretary Bussy Anand submitting a formal request for permission to hold the conference to the District Superintendent of Police on August 28.

Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam, which was officially formed earlier this year in February, has quickly gained attention with its distinctive flag and anthem. The flag, featuring a maroon top and bottom with a yellow stripe in the middle, carries a powerful symbol-a motif of two fighting tuskers flanking the Vaagai flower. The Vaagai flower, known in Tamil as Albizia lebbeck, symbolizes victory, a fitting emblem for the party's ambitious goals.

Last week, Vijay officially launched the TVK flag in a ceremony attended by his parents, filmmaker SA Chandrasekhar and Shobha. The event also marked the release of the party's anthem, composed by the celebrated musician S Thaman. In his address, Vijay expressed his deep commitment to the party's mission, promising to work tirelessly for the development of Tamil Nadu. "Together, we will work for the development of Tamil Nadu," Vijay stated, underscoring the party's dedication to the state's progress.

During the flag launch, Vijay took a solemn pledge to honor the sacrifices of those who fought for India's freedom and the rights of Tamil people. He vowed to eliminate societal divisions based on caste, religion, gender, and birthplace and to champion equal rights and opportunities for all. "I solemnly affirm my commitment to upholding the principle of equality for all living beings," he declared, setting the tone for the party's guiding principles.

Vijay's TVK was founded in February 2024.
