Video Of Vijay's Father Touching Rajinikanth's Feet Goes Viral After His Clip With Yogi Triggers Controversy

Amid debate around Rajinikanth's gesture to touch UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's feet, a clip of Thalapathy Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar taking the 'Jailer' actor's blessings has now gone viral.

The Tamil superstar met Yogi Adityanath on Friday at his residence in Lucknow and screened his recently-released flick for him. On Saturday, a clip went viral where Rajini is seen touching the feet of Yogi as he arrives at the CM's house.

This triggered a controversy as people questioned why the 71-year-old actor touched the feet of 51-year-old Yogi. As a section of the audience made critical comments against the actor for his gesture, his hardcore fans defended his move and claimed that this was his way of showing respect to the CM, who is also a monk and the mahant (Head Priest) of the Gorakhnath Math.

Some also posted videos of Rajinikanth's earlier instances when he touched the feet of seers who are younger than him.

Among the clips, one video that has caught the attention of the viewers is Thalapathy Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar seeking Rajinikanth's blessings at an event.

This has added fuel to the controversy as the fans of Rajinikanth and Vijay fight over the two clips.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth met former UP CM and SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav at his residence on Sunday. "When hearts meet, people embrace. During my engineering studies in Mysore, the happiness I used to feel seeing Rajinikanth ji on the screen is still intact. We met in person 9 years back and have been friends ever since..." Yadav tweeted and shared two photos from their meeting.

On the other hand, Rajinikanth's latest flick 'Jailer' has set the box office on fire. It has minted over Rs 400 crore at the worldwide box office and became the highest-grossing Tamil flick of 2023.
