Vijayakanth's Health Update: DMDK Leader's Condition Deteriorates; Prayers Pour In
Actor and DMDK founder Vijayakanth's health has slightly deteriorated in the past 24 hours, and the hospital bulletin indicates that he will need pulmonary support.
"Vijayakanth was showing great improvement. However, over the last 24 hours he showed mild deterioration requiring a small amount of pulmonary support. We continue to be confident that he will show a full recovery. Possible length of stay in hospital is a further fourteen days," a statement from the hospital said.

The actor-turned-politician was admitted to the hospital on November 18 following complaints of a throat infection. He also exhibited symptoms associated with fever and remained stable, carrying out all bodily functions independently. Nevertheless, he was under close observation.
Following the latest health bulletin, his well-wishers and fans have started praying for his speedy recovery.

"Praying for my Captain🙏 #Vijayakanth," second user said. The third one said, "#Vijayakanth has been admitted to a hospital. He will undergo treatment for two more weeks. Wishing him a quick recovery!"
Before stepping into politics, Vijayakanth had a prolific career in Tamil cinema. His transition into a prominent political figure led him to establish and lead the DMDK as its President. Notably, he served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016.
