Vijay’s Birthday Hoarding Falls On 10-Year-Old Boy In Kallakurichi; Evokes Memories Of Tragic Techie's Death
A 10-year-old boy had a narrow escape when a hoarding fell on him in Kallakurichi, a town recently in the news for a tragic hooch incident that claimed over 60 lives.
The hoarding, put up by fans of actor Vijay to celebrate his 50th birthday on June 22, collapsed but fortunately did not injure the boy. A video of the incident has since gone viral.

The clip shows the onlookers coming to the boy's rescue. However, this incident brings back memories of a tragic event in 2019 when a 23-year-old techie, Subhasri Ravi, lost her life in Chennai.
Subhasri was crushed by a water tanker after an illegal hoarding fell on her, causing her to lose balance and fall from her scooter. The hoarding had been illegally erected on the road divider for a wedding celebration by an AIADMK functionary.
Following the incident, Vijay urged his fans to refrain from erecting banners and cutouts, stating that they inconvenience the public and endanger lives. Yet the fans of the actor erected the hoarding.
Later, he subtly criticized the AIADMK, pointing out that the main culprit had not been arrested by the authorities over the techie's death.
"The lorry driver has been arrested, and the banner maker has been arrested. But those who should be behind bars are still roaming free," the actor stated at the audio launch function of 'Bigil'.
With the actor expressing his intentions to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly polls after floating 'Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam', the political parties will not waste any opportunity to criticse Thalapathy over the latest incident.
As far as the work is concerned, Vijay is busy with his latest flick 'GOAT' (The Greatest Of All Time), directed by Venkat Prabhu. Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila and many other notable actors are part of the cast.
Meenakshi Chaudhary is playing the female lead in the movie which will be out on September 5.
