Vijay Tears Into PM Modi, Stalin at TVK’s Madurai Conference; Mocks AIADMK

Actor-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Thalapathy Vijay launched a blistering attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin while addressing his party's second state-level conference in Madurai on Thursday.

Vijay Slams PM Modi For Targeting Muslims

Vijay accused the BJP-led central government of targeting Muslim minorities, neglecting Tamil Nadu's fishermen, and attempting to suppress the cultural and historical identity of the state. "Did you come into power for the third time to work for the people, or to work against the Muslim minorities in the country?" he thundered, adding that BJP's policies would never take root in Tamil Nadu. He also accused the Centre of trying to "hide the Keezhadi findings" and reiterated his demand to ban NEET.

The TVK president declared the BJP as his party's "ideological enemy" and the DMK as its "political enemy," vowing that the 2026 Assembly election would be a straight contest between TVK and DMK. Taking direct aim at Chief Minister Stalin, Vijay mocked him with a sharp jibe: "Stalin uncle, what uncle, it's very wrong, uncle." He accused the ruling party of misgovernance, corruption, and betraying women, farmers, and government employees with broken election promises.

Turning his attention to the AIADMK, Vijay mocked the party's present state and accused it of drifting away from founder MG Ramachandran's ideals. While criticising its internal chaos, he invoked both MGR and late actor-politician Vijayakanth with respect and admiration, calling them true leaders of the people. "In both cinema and politics, our favourite leader has been MGR. I never had the chance to be with him, but I had plenty of opportunities with my brother Vijayakanth, who shared the same qualities. He too belonged to this very soil of Madurai," Vijay said to loud cheers.

Vijay projected his party as a clean, uncompromising alternative. "TVK is not a party that makes underground deals, forges alliances, and cheats the people. We are not afraid of anyone. The people of Tamil Nadu, the women and the youth, stand with us," he declared.

Using a metaphor to describe TVK's political path, he said: "A lion knows how to live in a crowd and also knows how to live alone. It comes out only to hunt, not for entertainment. And it always hunts only living prey."

The star-turned-politician urged his supporters to turn their "voice into power" in 2026, promising that the safety of women, children, and the elderly would remain TVK's foremost priority.
