Vijay Launches TVK Party Flag, Critics Compare It To Spanish Flag And Fevicol Ad
Actor Vijay, founder of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has officially launched the party's flag and anthem at their headquarters in Panaiyur in Chennai on Thursday. This event signifies the formal launch of the party as a political entity. However, the flag has faced significant trolling on social media, with many users alleging it resembles the Spanish flag.
The TVK flag has become a subject of online mockery. Many have noted its similarity to Spain's flag, which features red stripes at the top and bottom with a yellow band in the middle. Unlike Spain's royal emblem, the flag flag includes an elephant symbol. Some have even compared it to the Fevicol logo, which shows two blue elephants facing opposite directions, suggesting that TVK's flag is a reversed version.

Others have drawn parallels between the TVK flag and Kerala's state emblem. The Kerala emblem includes two elephants with raised trunks and one leg lifted, along with a conch and India's national symbol of a lion. Critics argue that TVK flag mocks this state emblem.

Some social media users have gone further by comparing the flag to the Sharon Plywood logo. This logo features a green elephant with its trunk raised and one leg lifted inside a yellow circle. They suggest that TVK;s flag is merely a modified version of this logo.
Additionally, there are accusations that TVK plagiarized flags from various organizations, particularly caste-based ones.

The question of who Vijay will target with his political campaign remains unanswered. Despite launching the party and its symbols, Vijay has not provided any information about TVK's political stance or whether it will contest state or national elections.

Vijay’s entry into politics has been anticipated for some time due to his roles in politically themed-films. His decision to launch the party earlier this year confirmed these speculations and stirred discussions across Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.

The unveiling of TVK;s flag and anthem marks an important step for Vijay and his party. However, the backlash on social media highlights the challenges they may face in gaining public acceptance.
