Vijay Alone Not Responsible For Karur Stampede: Ajith's Big Support For TVK Chief

Tamil Ajith Kumar, often considered as Vijay's rival, has expressed his views on the tragic stampede at Vijay's rally in Karur in September. In fact, the actor has refused to put the complete blame on the TVK chief calling he is responsible alone for the incident.

Ajith remarked that the responsibility for the incident doesn't solely lie with Vijay. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, he stated, "I'm not trying to put anybody down but like I say there's so much happening in Tamil Nadu today because of this stampede that happened. That individual (Vijay) alone is not responsible, we are all responsible for it and I think even the media has a part to play in this. Today I think we have become a society that's so obsessed with gathering a crowd, to show your crowd. All this has to end!"

Film Industry Under Scrutiny

The actor questioned why such chaos predominantly occurs around film stars. He noted that similar incidents don't happen at cricket matches or other events. Ajith pointed out that these occurrences cast the film industry in a negative light globally.

The stampede took place during Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally in Karur. It led to 41 deaths and many injuries as fans and supporters gathered in large numbers.

Premkumar Moorthy from TVK's Student Wing responded to Ajith's comments. He expressed gratitude for Ajith's compassionate words during this sorrowful time. Moorthy emphasized that Ajith spoke as a caring elder brother, highlighting collective responsibility rather than blaming one entity.
