Vegetable Price In Chennai: What's Cheaper, What Costlier Today?
The Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex in Chennai experienced moderate price changes for vegetables on Friday. These fluctuations were driven by supply, demand, and seasonal factors. Notably, radish prices halved from Rs 60 to Rs 30. Chow chow, peas, and garlic also saw reductions. Chow chow decreased from Rs 50 to Rs 30, peas from Rs 200 to Rs 180, and garlic from Rs 380 to Rs 360.
Price Changes in Vegetables
Ladies finger prices increased by Rs 10, moving from Rs 25 to Rs 35. Cabbage prices dropped slightly by Rs 5, now at Rs 30 instead of the previous Rs 35. Capsicum and ginger both saw a decrease of Rs 10 each; capsicum fell from Rs 80 to Rs 70 while ginger went down from Rs 180 to Rs 170.

Bell pepper experienced a significant price cut of Rs 30, reducing its cost from Rs 120 to just Rs 90. On the other hand, drumstick and snake gourd prices rose by a modest amount of Rs 5 each. Drumstick is now priced at Rs 50 and snake gourd at Rs 20.
Stable Prices for Staple Vegetables
Despite these changes in some vegetable prices, staple items like tomatoes, onions, potatoes, carrots, and beetroots have maintained stable pricing without any notable fluctuations. This stability provides some relief amidst the varying costs of other vegetables in the market.
