Vande Bharat Express Madurai To Bengaluru: Schedule, Fare, And Route Details

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express on Saturday. This high-speed service will become the fastest train between the two cities, cutting the 430-kilometre journey down to just 7.45 hours- a significant improvement over the current fastest train, which takes nine and a half hours.

The Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, with Tuesday as its only day off. It will stop at several major stations, including Dindigul, Tiruchchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, Krishnarajapuram, and Bengaluru Cantonment.

Vande Bharat Express Madurai To Bengaluru Schedule Fare And Route Details

Here is the train schedule:

  • Departure from Madurai: 5:15 am
  • Arrival at Bengaluru Cantonment: 1:00 pm
  • Return Departure from Bengaluru Cantonment: 1:30 pm
  • Arrival back in Madurai: 9:45 pm

During its journey, the train will have brief stops at each station, with the longest halts of five minutes at Tiruchchirappalli and Salem.

Outbound Schedule:

  • 5:15 am: Madurai
  • 5:59 am: Dindigul (2-minute halt)
  • 6:50 am: Tiruchchirappalli (5-minute halt)
  • 8:08 am: Karur (2-minute halt)
  • 8:32 am: Namakkal (2-minute halt)
  • 9:15 am: Salem (5-minute halt)
  • 12:50 pm: Krishnarajapuram (2-minute halt)
  • 1:00 pm: Bengaluru Cantonment

Return Schedule:

  • 1:30 pm: Bengaluru Cantonment
  • 1:55 pm: Krishnarajapuram (2-minute halt)
  • 4:50 pm: Salem
  • 5:40 pm: Namakkal
  • 6:00 pm: Karur
  • 7:25 pm: Tiruchchirappalli
  • 9:08 pm: Dindigul
  • 9:45 pm: Madurai

Ticket Prices:

Chair Car: Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,300
Executive Class: Rs 1,800 to Rs 2,000

Currently, about 60 Vande Bharat trains are operating across India, with key routes in Tamil Nadu including Chennai-Bangalore, Chennai-Coimbatore, Chennai-Tirunelveli, and Coimbatore-Bangalore. The addition of the Madurai-Bengaluru route will further boost regional connectivity.

In addition to the Madurai-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, Prime Minister Modi will also flag off the Chennai Egmore-Nagercoil train on August 31.
