Udhayanidhi’s well-planned sketch: errorless execution by valiant lionesses
Tamil Nadu women football team won the 27th Senior Women's National Football Championship held in Amritsar, Punjab which is the second victory for the Tamil Nadu team in this Championship. The players who faced tough challenges during the game are dedicating their victory to Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. Earlier Tamil Nadu team won the cup in 2017-18 and 5 years later again Tamil Nadu team has won the cup now. Because of the victory Tamil Nadu people greeted the women's team with energy and enthusiasm.
The players who participated in the Senior Women's National Football Championship include Devi, Sowmiya, Dhanalakshmi, Kousalya, Lavanya, Pavithra, Thuriga, Shanmugapriya, Subashini, Parameshwari, Priyadharshini, Malavika, Nandhini, Karthiga, Indhumathi, Vinothini, Ishwarya, R. Santhya, P.Santhya, Yuvarani, Amsavalli. Team effort of all of the players along with the coaches Kokila and Kala made the victory possible.

Player Indhumathi said that the DMK government has extended a lot of help for the players which is the main reason for the biggest achievement of the team. The players of the Tamil Nadu football team have a humble background and their stories are filled with tears. Player Devi said that both of her parents are hard-working people who did wage work to provide education to her. One of the difficulties faced by Devi is wearing shorts and playing in her village which attracted negative comments because of villagers' lack of exposure and awareness. "Breaking all the barriers I am playing the sport", said Devi.

Player Sowmiya said that the dream of achieving in football is discouraged in many of the houses in Tamil Nadu which was the case in her house also. "The main hindrance to the dream is the need for wearing shorts while playing which was not well received by my parents and after a long struggle I was able to pursue my dream", said Sowmiya.
Player Santhya said that she did her studies in a government hostel which was meant for the children of single parents. Player Indhumathi said that she started pursuing her passion of football while she was in 7th standard itself. There is a prevailing misconception that football is for men.

Player Pavithra said that Udhayanidhi Stalin recognised her talent in 2020 and honoured her with Dayalu Ammal award and 25000 cash prize. Pavithra started playing football when she was in 6th standard. Her parents own a tea stall and the Corona period changed her life for the worst because she lost her father as well as grandmother. When she lost her will for life, Udhayanidhi Stalin contacted all the players and helped them which was like a boost for the team players to resume the practice. After this, the team participated in the national level game and bagged the third place for which CM Stalin gave 1 lakh rupees to each player. "We promised the CM that Tamil Nadu team will win next time and we fulfilled that promise", said Pavithra.

In the finals the Tamil Nadu team struggled against the Haryana team in the first half but the players did not give up. In the 2nd half Tamil Nadu team scored 2 goals and won the game. "We fulfilled the promise we made to CM Stalin", said player Devi.
In India, as far as the women team is concerned, the Senior Women's National Football Championship is the highly regarded one. "It is a great achievement for the Tamil Nadu team to win the highly regarded Championship in India", said the coach.

Tamil Nadu women football team met CM Stalin to get his wishes. A truly proud moment for Tamil Nadu.
Hearty Congratulations Team!!!!!!!!
