The city of Madurai has taken on a festive and vibrant atmosphere as thousands of supporters have gathered for the second political conference of Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.

The venue is a spectacle of color and celebration, adorned with red and yellow TVK flags and giant cut-outs of Vijay, C.N. Annadurai, and M.G. Ramachandran. Huge welcome arches mark the area, and a specially constructed one-kilometre ramp has been built for Vijay's grand entry. For his address, a 12-ft high ramp has been set up.

Despite some last-minute logistical challenges with chair suppliers, the party managed to source them from Kerala. Vendors selling party merchandise, such as shawls, flags, hand-fans, and pocket-sized photos of Vijay, are experiencing brisk business, according to a report in The Indian Express. To manage the influx of vehicles from across Tamil Nadu, six dedicated parking zones have been arranged.

The more significant reading is the RealFeel® temperature, which is a scorching 41°C due to a combination of high humidity and light winds. The heat index reached 43°C by late morning. Popular weather blogger Chennai Rains has highlighted that the risk of heat stroke for participants is very high given the large assembly of people and the prevailing abnormally hot temperatures. The advice to organizers has been to ensure sufficient water is made available to everyone attending.

Conflicting with the partly sunny forecast, weather.com offers a different outlook, predicting a high of 39°C with scattered showers and hazy conditions in the afternoon. They indicate a 40% chance of rain with winds coming from the southeast.

Therefore, while there is a possibility of scattered showers later, the most pressing and immediate weather-related concern for the thousands of fans is the extreme heat and the significant risk of heat-related illnesses.
