TVK Conference: How The Stage Is Getting Ready For Vijay's Debut Public Rally
Supporters are flocking to Vikravandi V Salai village in Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, where the actor-turned-politician Vijay's Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) is set to hold its inaugural state-level conference this Sunday, ANI reported.
Although access to the venue is restricted, fans are seizing the opportunity to take pictures with Vijay's banners and the party's flags. Optimism runs high among his followers, who assert, "Vijay will create history. He will be a big impact in the 2026 elections. His fans will canvass votes for him from their respective families. So automatically there would be an impact."

The anticipation for Vijay's entry into politics was met with various questions about his political knowledge, the nature of the conference, and his party's sustainability. Addressing the skepticism, Vijay confidently stated, "When we successfully host this conference they would understand Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam is not a party just for namesake political party. Whoever judges us would understand this is the party which is going to rise and achieve success on political grounds. I ask everyone to understand these things and to work for our conference."
Extensive preparations have been made for TVK's landmark conference, with party flags and banners adorning the route from Tambaram to the venue, 90 kms away from the National Highways.
The conference venue spans 85 acres, featuring a stage modeled after the Tamil Nadu Secretariat, measuring 170 feet in length and 65 feet in breadth. Vijay is set to hoist a flag atop a 101-foot flagpole, intended to stand for nearly a decade.
Additionally, a ramp is under construction for Vijay to walk among his supporters. To ensure the conference runs smoothly, 27 volunteer teams have been deployed, including a women's wing, medical, security, and various coordination teams.
In his political journey, Vijay has aligned himself with the ideologies of left-leaning Dravidian leaders and Tamil Nationalism. The conference venue showcases this alignment, featuring flexes of revered social reformers like Periyar and Ambedkar, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Kamarajar, and female freedom fighters Velu Nachiyar and Anjalai Ammal, among others.
Banners of historical Tamil figures from the Chera, Chola, and Pandiya dynasties also adorn the venue, highlighting the rich cultural and political heritage Vijay intends to draw upon.
Vijay's political ambitions have generated widespread interest and speculation about the future direction of TVK and its potential impact on Tamil Nadu's political scene. Vijay, who announced his party's formation in February this year, has been focusing on outlining his political stance and addressing critics who question his political acumen. With the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections in view, Vijay's TVK party is gearing up to make a significant impact.
The DMK has chosen to remain silent regarding Vijay's political foray, avoiding engagement with TVK. Conversely, the AIADMK has remarked that the formation of a political party is a democratic right, suggesting that the DMK might perceive Vijay as a threat. The BJP has critiqued Vijay, claiming confusion in his political ideology.
In anticipation of the conference, Vijay penned three letters to his supporters, urging them to prioritize safety and maintain discipline. The expected attendance is in the lakhs, with police from Villupuram, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, and Kallakurichi districts managing security. Vijay's foray into politics marks a significant moment in Tamil Nadu's political landscape, with the actor leveraging his massive fan base and cultural influence in a bid to reshape the state's political future.
As Vijay's Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam steps onto the political stage with its first state-level conference, the excitement among his supporters is palpable. With detailed preparations in place and a clear ideological stance, Vijay's political debut is closely watched by friends and foes alike in Tamil Nadu's dynamic political arena.
