In the visuals shared by the IANS and PTI, the bomb squad teams are seen at the actor-turned-politician's residence.
The development comes at a time when Vijay has made the national headlines following a stampede at his rally in Karur on September 27. The incident killed 41 people, while leaving over 100 injured.
The DMK government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Inspector-General of Police Asra Garg to carry out an inquiry into the stampede. However, the TVK has moved the Supreme Court seeking an independent investigation led by a former Supreme Court judge into the stampede.
Filed through TVK's secretary Aadhav Arjuna, the petition was mentioned before Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai for urgent listing on Monday. The matter has now been listed on Friday (October 10). Also, the apex court is also scheduled to hear a separate appeal challenging the Madurai Bench of the High Court's refusal to transfer the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Meanwhile, Vijay on Monday and Tuesday personally offered condolences to several families who lost relatives. The outreach occurred via video calls on Monday and Tuesday, party sources told The New Indian Express.
A TVK team, led by General Secretary Dr KG Arunraj, was on the ground visiting the bereaved families in areas like Gandhigramam and Pasupathipalayam, facilitating the calls with Vijay. "He said he would stand by our family like a brother," P. Selvaraj, a relative of one victim, told The New Indian Express.
During the calls, Vijay reportedly expressed deep sorrow, calling the tragedy an "irreparable loss." He assured the families of his support and mentioned plans for an in-person visit and further relief assistance. This follows his earlier announcement of a ₹20 lakh compensation for each victim's family.
