TN govt gives Rs.1000 to eligible women family heads, Million stories about its benefits
Kalaignar's Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam has turned heads towards Tamil Nadu. During the scheme's launch event in Kanchipuram, on Annadurai's birthday (September 15), CM Stalin distributed ATM cards to the area's beneficiaries.
The specialty is, the beneficiaries' accounts were credited with money, the day before the distribution of ATM cards. Many women who participated in the Kalaignar News channel's special debate program shared the experience of receiving money before receiving the ATM card and also the importance of Rs.1000 given by the government.

A section of people are criticising the scheme for political gain saying that the minuscule amount will do nothing good. The women who participated in the special debate program testified the significance of Rs.1000 given by the government.

A woman family head said, "Being a homemaker has been perceived as an idle job. Even a white collar job requires working for only 8 hrs but being a homemaker means working non-stop for 18 hours from morning till night. The sad reality is, home makers hardly get money in their hands but that situation has been changed by the government by giving Rs.1000 in the hands of homemakers. Now, I can fulfill the small desires of my children without seeking the help of others."
Another woman Valliammal said, "Our family depends on daily wages which makes our life difficult on a daily basis. If wage is not received on a particular day, there will be no food for us. Our situation is going to change with the Rs.1000 given by the government. With the given amount, we can take care of the educational expenses of our children which is crucial for their future."

A weaver from Kanchipuram Ayyampettai said, "During monsoon season, the difficulty in weaving results in insufficient income. With the Rs.1000 given by the Stalin government, we can manage to buy the basic needs such as rice, salt, tamarind etc. The amount given by the government may not seem a lot for well off people but it is a great relief for us."
Kalaiarasi said, "My husband is a wage worker and my children are studying in school. My husband's earnings fulfill only the basic requirements of the house and it is not enough for fulfilling the small desires of the kids like getting snacks. Now CM Stalin is giving Rs.1000 which can be used to fulfill our children's wishes."
A woman said, "Women are dependent on their husbands for money. Husbands generally ask multiple questions before giving money to their wives. This situation is changed by giving money to the women-familyheads to incur the expenses needed for the family without being dependent on husbands."

Another woman said, "My eldest son needs his spectacles to be changed every 3 months for which Rs.3000 is needed. The 1000 rupees given by the government will be useful for my son's medical expenses."
Saranya said, "It gives me immense joy thinking about the fact that I will receive Rs.1000 per month which is a dream for homemakers like me."
